Freshman Quarterback Cormac Madigan had a game for the ages Saturday, helping Ripon defeat Beloit College 49-14. That helped him earn Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week honors, as released Monday by the conference office.
A Chemistry-Biology major from Rosendale, Wis., Madigan scored a school-record six rushing touchdowns (including five in the first half) against the Buccaneers. He also gained 281 yards on the ground, which ranks second in school history, while averaging 14.8 yards on 19 carries. His yardage total was the most by a Ripon player in 16 years.
