MINNEAPOLIS -- Due to a forecast of unseasonable hot and humid weather conditions on Saturday (9/15), Augsburg University has moved up the start time of its football home game with Concordia College-Moorhead at Edor Nelson Field three hours to a 10 a.m. kickoff.
Saturday's weather forecast for the Twin Cities calls for a high temperature in the upper 80s with humidity levels exceeding 80 percent. According to new weather policies enacted this spring by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the combination of heat and humidity, known as the "Wet Bulb Globe Temperature," would cause either significant delays or contest postponement.
Saturday's other home athletic events -- a men's and women's cross country invitational at 9:30 a.m. at Hyland Greens Golf Course in Bloomington, and a women's soccer home game against Bethel at 7 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field, will be played as scheduled.
Further developments or changes will be posted on Augsburg's athletic Twitter feed (@AugsburgAuggies) and on the athletic website.
