Final 2017 AFCA Division III Poll | Final 2017 D3football.com Poll

BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins football team officially closed the 2017 season where it began, ranked in the top 20 by both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D3football.com as the Blue Jays check in at number 20 in each of those organization's final polls of the season.

This is the seventh consecutive year the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 20 by the AFCA at the end of the season. Johns Hopkins has been ranked in the top 25 by the AFCA for 70 consecutive weeks dating back to the first poll of the 2011 season and Hopkins is one of just four teams in the nation to be ranked in the top 25 every week since the start of the 2012 season (Mount Union, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Linfield are the others).

The number 20 ranking in the final D3football.com Poll extends the Blue Jays' streak of season-ending top 20 rankings in that poll to five and season-ending top 25 rankings to seven. Dating back to September 26, 2011, there have been a total of 87 D3football.com weekly polls and the Blue Jays have appeared in the top 25 in 83 of those 87, including 74 of the last 75.

Johns Hopkins posted a 9-2 record, claimed a share of the Centennial Conference title for the ninth consecutive season and advanced to the NCAA Playoffs for the seventh straight year and the eighth time in nine years in 2017. Hopkins is one of just five teams in the nation that has qualified for the NCAA Playoffs every year since 2011 (Mount Union, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Linfield and Wesley are the others).
