DANBURY, Conn. – Three members of the Stevenson University football team were honored as the ECAC released its annual All-Star teams on Tuesday morning. Senior linebacker Cory Pietrzyk and freshman kicker Ian Gould were honored as First Team selections, while senior Preston Addo was honored both as a wide receiver and as a return specialist.
Pietrzyk, a Middle Atlantic Conference First Team selection, led the Mustangs with 92 tackles this season, including 15.5 tackles for a loss and four sacks. He also finished the season with a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception and three pass breakups. He had at least six tackles in every game this season and finished with a season-high 13 stops against Widener on October 28.
Gould, the MAC Rookie of the Year and a Second Team selection, finished the season with 77 points as he was 38-38 on extra point attempts and 13-15 on field goal attempts for the season. He racked up a kicking school-record 17 points in a win over Misericordia on September 30, totaling three field goals while finishing 8-8 on PAT tries. Gould was a two-time MAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Addo finished with 67 receptions for 1,234 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, leading the team in reception yards while finishing second in receptions. He led the MAC in receiving yards and finished second in receiving touchdowns and caught 10 balls for a program-record 230 yards November 4 at Wilkes. Asso also averaged 20.9 yards on 17 kick returns and returned 22 punts for 234 yards, including an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown at FDU-Florham on September 16.
Stevenson made its fourth straight postseason appearance in 2017, qualifying for the ECAC James Lynah Bowl played at the University of Delaware on November 19.
