DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert College sophomore wide receiver Samuel Staehling had a record-setting day as the Green Knights rolled to a 47-7 win over Beloit College in a Midwest Conference North Division game at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (7-2, 5-0 MWC North) cruised to their seventh-straight victory behind three big plays by Staehling, who set a new school record for touchdown receptions in a season with 16.

St. Norbert took a 7-0 lead on the game's opening possession, scoring on a 1-yard run by Jadon Sackman. Staehling then broke the game open with two big pass plays. Jack Becker found Staehling on touchdowns of 46 and 48 yards to give the Green Knights a 21-0 lead after the first quarter.

The Green Knights added a safety and a 49-yard field goal by Spenser Thompson-Meyers midway through the second quarter. Becker then found Staehling on a short pass that ruptured into a 90-yard jaunt to the end zone for a 33-0 halftime lead.

Staehling's three touchdown receptions give him 16 on the season, snapping a three-way tie at 13 for most touchdown receptions in a season. Staehling has 25 career touchdown receptions in 18 games, the third-best mark in school history. Staehling, who had 184 yards on three receptions, finished with 61.3 yards per reception, the second-best game mark in school history. His three touchdown receptions mark the fourth time he has done that in his career - with no other St. Norbert player having more than just two.

St. Norbert answered with a 20-yard touchdown throw from Brayden Van Ess to Marty Franzkowiak at the 11:17 mark of the third period.
