Muhlenberg senior offensive tackle Willie Britt was named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America first team.
Britt is the fourth Mule to earn a spot on the AFCA All-America team, which is the most difficult to land on because, until this year, the AFCA only selected a first team. The last Muhlenberg player to make the AFCA All-America squad was linebacker Patrick McDonough in 2011.
Overall, Britt is the 14th different Mule to earn All-America honors since 1999 - the first offensive lineman since Chris Radomski was a third-team selection by D3football.com in 2003. At least one Muhlenberg player has earned All-America recognition in 13 of the last 18 years.
A three-time All-Centennial Conference first-team selection, Britt also was named to the ECAC Division III South All-Star first team and the D3football.com All-South Region second team.
Britt started every game at left tackle and was the most consistent lineman for an offense that set school record for points scored and yards gained in a season. Muhlenberg was one of only 17 Division III teams to average more than 40 points per game (40.1) and ranked 29th in Division III in total offense (469.0 yards per game).

The Mules also were one of just three Division III schools to have a quarterback in the top 20 in passing efficiency (Nick Palladino - 17th) and a running back in the top 20 in rushing yards (Nick Savant - fifth).
Britt started all 44 Muhlenberg games during his career and was part of a senior class that won 34 games, a program record for a four-year span. The Mules averaged 35.1 points and 428.4 yards per game from 2013 to 2016.
The Mules also made the postseason all four years of Britt's career. Muhlenberg finished the 2016 season with a record of 9-2 and was ranked 19th in the last AFCA poll of the regular season.
