LOS ANGELES — Occidental quarterback Bryan Scott was named SCIAC Offensive Player of the Year on Wednesday after a terrific season for the Tigers.

It is the second year in a row that Oxy has had the Offensive Player of the Year after running back Kwame Do received the honor in 2015.

Cordell Harris earned First Team All-SCIAC honors as both a wide receiver and special team's player, and offensive lineman Nicholas Lunn was also named First Team All-SCIAC.

Scott, a senior from Rolling Hills, led the SCIAC in passing yards per game (339.8) and touchdowns (27), was second in completion percentage (66.4), and third in rushing touchdowns (8) during a record-breaking season. He became the SCIAC's all-time passing yardage leader (9,073) and Oxy's single season passing yards leader (3,058). His 339.8 yards per game currently ranks No. 8 in the country for NCAA Division III.

"It's an honor to be recognized by the SCIAC head coaches and to receive such a prestigious award," Scott said. "Throughout my career here at Oxy I have been fortunate to play alongside some amazing teammates and to be coached by great men. I am extremely thankful and humbled to have been a student-athlete at Oxy and happy to bring something back to the school that has given me so much."

Harris consistently showed that he was one of the best all-around players in the SCIAC, earning two First Team spots. He led the SCIAC in receptions per game (7.8) and all-purpose yards (1,557), was second in receiving touchdowns (7) and third in receiving yards per game (82.8). Late in the year he also played cornerback as Oxy's defensive secondary struggled with injuries, interception a pass and making 14 tackles.

Lunn led a veteran group of offensive lineman that were outstanding at protecting Scott and providing holes for the running game. The Tigers' offense averaged a league-best 500 yards per game and its passing offense ranks No. 9 in the country (343.8).
