CONWAY, Ark.—The Birmingham-Southern football team lost on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 21-16 to Hendrix College on Crafton-Faulkner Field in Conway, Ark.

The Panthers fell to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Warriors moved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the SAA.

Hendrix scored the first points of the game with a touchdown at the 9:13 mark of the first quarter, and would never relinquish the lead.

BSC got on the board less than two minutes after the Warriors' first touchdown when freshman Ryder Andrews made a 25-yard field goal, but Hendrix increased the lead to 14-3 mid-way through the second quarter on Seth Peters' second touchdown pass of the game.

The Panthers found the end zone at the 5:07 mark of the third quarter on a 15-yard pass from junior Austin Martin to sophomore receiver Jonathan Scaringe, but the extra point was no good, bringing the score to 14-9.

Less than four minutes later, the Warriors scored their final touchdown of the game on a 53-yard run by Dayton Winn.

BSC scored its final points of the game at the 4:15 mark of the fourth quarter when senior Daniel Lopera caught a 20-yard pass from sophomore Mickey Courtney. Andrews' kick was good, cutting it to 21-16. The Panthers kept the Warriors from scoring on the next drive, getting the ball with 24 seconds left in the game, but three plays later Courtney's pass was intercepted, effectively ending the game.

Courtney was 6-12 with one touchdown and 72 yards, and Martin was 5-17 with one touchdown and 48 yards.

Junior tailback Samir Usman led the rushing game for BSC with 150 yards on 18 carries, and Scaringe led the receivers with 59 yards on five catches.

Sophomore linebacker Trevor Dedecker led the Panther defense with 17 tackles (12 solo), followed closely by senior Alex King with 16 (5 solo). King also had 2.5 tackles-for-loss, including 1.5 sacks.

BSC returns home next weekend for Homecoming 2015, hosting Millsaps on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m. on Battle Field at Panther Stadium.
