EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – While the UW-Eau Claire football team gave up 42 points through the first three quarters, the Blugolds were able to hold eighth-ranked UW-Oshkosh scoreless in the fourth quarter in a 42-14 loss on Senior Day at Carson Park today.

Down 42-0, the Blugolds used their first drive of the fourth quarter to find the end zone. Drew Davis (Fr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) caught a seven-yard pass from Joel Newman (So.-Red Wing, Minn.) to cap the six-play, 58-yard drive to get the Blugolds on the board.

While Joel Sweeney (Sr.-Tomah, Wis.) had -2 yards rushing in the first half, he was able to finish with 123 on the day. He scored the other Blugold touchdown with eight minutes remaining in the game on a 50-yard run. He now has 996 rushing yards for the season.
