Carleton topples Macalester 56-17

Carleton compiled 474 yards in total offense, forced five turnovers, and went on to beat Macalester 56-17 in St. Paul and maintain its possession of the Book of Knowledge travelling trophy.  The Scots, who lose five turnovers for the second week in a row, drop to 2-3 on the season, while Carleton snaps a two-game skid and improves to 3-2.  Carleton scored 14 points in all four quarters.

 

Carleton quarterback Conor Lynch was a two-way threat for the Knights, going 10-for-14 passing for 165 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 98 yards and two scores on the ground on 13 carries.

 

Chris Madden rushed for 124 yards and a TD for Carleton and Anthony Kemper caught five passes for 91 yards and a score.  Carleton led 14-0 after one quarter and 28-0 at halftime.

 

Macalester quarterback Samson Biolostock went 21-for-31 for 241 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran 15 times for 35 yards.

 

Macalester plays next Saturday at the University of Chicago.  Chicago returns a week from now to host St. John's.
