Guilford Adds Five More Paid Commitments for 2013

More news about: Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College head football coach Chris Rusiewicz announced the intention of five more incoming students to play football for the Quakers Tuesday. The students have made their deposits to the college and will enroll for classes beginning in August. The announcement raises Rusiewicz's fourth recruiting class at Guilford to 32 students.

Quincy Miller (Roanoke, Va.) lettered on three straight winning seasons at Patrick Henry High School for coach Alan Fiddler. The 6-3, 290-pound lineman helped the 2012 team to an 8-3 record and the Patriots' first playoff appearance since 2001. He earned Second Team All-Western Valley District recognition as a defensive tackle.

Anthony Pasquale (Wellington, Fla.) lettered three years at The Kings Academy under coach Heath Nivens. A 6-0, 170-pound quarterback, Pasquale threw for 26 touchdown passes and ran for eight more in his senior campaign. He was named team captain in 2012, and earned the team's Lion Heart Award for consistent and outstanding play on the field. Pasquale was a member of the 2010 city championship and part of three straight winning teams at the Kings Academy.

Austin Seibert (Waxhaw, N.C.) lettered three years at Cuthbertson High School under coach Michael Roark. A 6-0, 175-pound safety, Seibert also lettered four years in track. Seibert received the school's Cavalier Pride Award and is a member of the honor roll. He intends to major in sport management at Guilford.

Dre' Tribble (Laurens, S.C.) lettered two seasons at Laurens District 55 High School under coach Greg Lawson. A 5-10, 175-pound defensive back, Tribble earned All-Laurens County and the All-Region I 4A honors. He also lettered two years as a point guard on the basketball team. Tribble intends to major in business management at Guilford.

Gerald Turner Jr. (Yanceyville, N.C.) lettered three seasons at Bartlett Yancey High School under coach Corey Lea. A 5-10, 220-pound middle linebacker, Turner was named the defensive captain at the beginning of his senior season. He led the team with 120 tackles in 2012 and earned All-Mid-State 2A Conference honors, plus the team's defensive MVP Award. An honor student and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Turner intends to major in criminal justice at Guilford.

Guilford opens the 2013 season Sept. 7 against Greensboro College in the Gate City Soup Bowl at 1:00 p.m.
