(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson College football team found it almost as difficult moving the football as it was to drive in Saturday's snow storm, falling in a blizzard at Muhlenberg, 12-0. The weather was a little harsher than the Devils "Red-Out" game against McDaniel last Friday night, moving to a literal white-out in Allentown.

The Mules scored on its first possession but watched the extra-point attempt sail wide right to hold the score at 6-0 with just 1:38 expired off the clock. Dan Deighan broke free for a 52 yard touchdown run in what would prove to be one of the game's only scores.

The teams would combine for five fumbles and an interception in just the first quarter of action. The teams kept the ball on the ground for almost the entire first half. Muhlenberg completed 2-of-6 passes in the second quarter while the Devils did not even attempt to throw the football. Muhlenberg moved the ball to the Devils' five yard line but missed a 22 yard field-goal in the final seconds of the first half.

The Mules were able to sustain another scoring drive in the third quarter. Terrance Dandridge carried the ball all but once on the drive, covering 75 yards on eight attempts, capped by a one yard dive into the end zone. Dandridge was called on once again to try for a two-point conversion but was stopped by the Red Devil defense to make the score, 12-0, with 5:53 to play in the third.

The Devils did have moderate success with a pair of passes to senior Cam Di Fede (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity), covering 22 yards to close out the third quarter. The fourth quarter brought much of the same as the weather prevented either team from sustaining a strong drive. The Devils would work their way to the Muhlenberg 15 yard line, but were stopped on 4th-and-nine. They would have one more possession but lost the ball on downs at the Mules' 39 yard line in the final minute.

The teams combined for 12 fumbles with the Devils losing three and Muhlenberg turning it over twice. Deighan led all rushers with 120 yards on 16 carries while Dandridge covered 114 yards on 19 attempts. Joe Carlucci went 3-for-6, passing for just 32 yards.

Sophomore Kyle Smith (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) rushed for 69 yards on 12 carries to lead the Devils. Mike Shimkin (Solebury, Pa./Princeton Day School) ran for 56 yards as well. Ricky Martz (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) came on to complete 8-of-15 passes for 55 yards, including three to DiFede for 33 yards on the day.

Scott Sullivan (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) added a 40-yard interception return to his resume', recording a game-high 11 tackles as well. Schuyler Simpson (Potomac, Md./Bullis) added eight stops while Andrew Downs (Woodbridge, Conn./Hamden Hall) and Connor Thompson (Jenkintown, Pa./Father Judge) each forced a fumble.

The Red Devils slip to 3-5 overall and 3-4 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road again next Saturday, traveling to Gettysburg College. Kick-off is set for 1:00 pm with the coveted Little Brown Bucket on the line.
