LEXINGTON, Va. – CUA fell behind Washington and Lee 21-0 after one quarter and was unable to recover, falling to the Generals 49-13 on Friday evening.  The loss snaps CUA's two-game losing streak and drops the Cardinals to 5-3 overall.  Andrew Ouellette caught a team-high six passes for CUA, totaling 107 yards and one score.

Washington and Lee wasted little time in opening up a lead, scoring on its first two possessions to take a 14-0 lead.

CUA then got the ball and looked to get on the board for the first time, but the Cardinals missed a field goal and the Generals answered with an 80-play drive that ended on a three-yard score by Nick Lombardo to up the lead to 21.

The Cardinals scored for the first time with 4:04 to play in the second when Greg Cordivari completed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Mike Pitsenberger to pull CUA to within two scores.

But Washington and Lee countered with a pair of scores before halftime, including an 82-yard kick-off return by Brett Murray to give the Generals a 35-7 lead at intermission.

CUA scored its second touchdown of the evening when Cordivari hooked up with Ouellette on a 33-yard score in the fourth quarter.

The Cardinals got the ball back once more late in the game, but were forced to punt and Washington and Lee kept it on the ground to run out the remaining time.

CUA had trouble stopping the Generals ground attack all game, allowing 439 yards on 75 carries.  Lombardo led Washington and Lee with 79 yards with Charlie Westfal adding 75.

Cordivari completed 26 of 44 passes for 254 yards and two scores, and Pitsenberger rushed for 74 yards on only 10 carries.

Conor Stueckler led the CUA defense with 16 tackles, including one for loss, and for Washington and Lee, Rob Look finished with 10 tackles.

CUA heads back home next weekend to host Guilford on Saturday, November 5.  It's Senior Day for the Cardinals and the kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. from inside Cardinal Stadium.
