Thunder To Contend for MIAA Title
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Eric Watt (Kentland, Ind./South Newton) completed 21-of-26 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns in a 59-17 Trine victory over Kalamazoo Saturday.

The fourteenth-ranked Thunder jumped out to a 28-0 lead and finished with 610 yards of total offense, 279 passing; 331 rushing in the rout over the Hornets.

Johnathan Ayers (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) rushed for 85 yards on seven carries.  Paul Curtis (Cassopolis, Mich./Ross Beatty) collected six receptions for 201 yards and two touchdowns, including a 78 yard score early in the second quarter.

Ja Vontae Hence (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) scored on a three-yard run and on an 19 yard pass, both in the second quarter.

Ben Mohr (Boggstown, Ind./Triton Central) made six tackles. Aaron Selking (Decatur, Ind./Adams Central) had  five stops, an interception and a pass broken up.

The Thunder (9-0, 5-0 MIAA) are now in position to capture their third straight undefeated MIAA title. Trine hosts Albion (5-4, 4-1 MIAA) Saturday at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium at 1 p.m.
