The Millikin football team defeated North Park University 16-7 on November 5 in Chicago.
Dion Wilson and Chris Hunt were the offensive stars for Millikin. Wilson rushed for 228 yards on 45 carries. Hunt hit three goals from 31, 24 and 40 yards.
Millikin limited North Park to 171 yards in total offense (150 rushing and 21 passing). Millikin rushed for 276 yards and threw for 54 yards.
North Park took an early lead late in the first quarter on a Rakim Jones three yard run after North Park's Cicero Porter picked off a Matt Holmes pass and returned it to the Millikin 14 yard line.
Millikin rallied in the second quarter posting two Hunt field goal and a two yard touchdown run from Holmes. It was 13-7 Big Blue at the half.
The only scoring in the second half came on a Hunt 40 yard field goal late in the third quarter.
Nick Kronmiller was Millikin's top tackler with seven and one interception. Josh Ingold added six. Cody Acree also had an interception for Millikin.
Porter was North Park's top defensive player with 12.
Wilson's 228 yards give him 1,307 yards on the season and 2,775 yards in his career moving him into fourth on the all-time Millikin rushing list.
Millikin is now 4-5, 1-5 and will finish the 2010 season next week by hosting Wheaton.
