Thunder Stay Unbeaten at Hope
HOLLAND, Mich. - The beat goes on as 15th-ranked Trine topped
Hope 31-10 Saturday. The Thunder (7-0, 3-0 Michigan
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) jumped out to a 24-0 lead at
halftime to post the 31-10 victory.
With the win, Trine maintains a one-half game lead over Albion (4-4, 3-1 MIAA) for the MIAA lead.
Eric Watt (Kentland, Ind./South Newton) passed for 304 yards and four touchdowns. Paul Curtis (Cassopolis, Mich./Ross Beatty) grabbed six catches for 156 yards and two scores, including a 73 yard aerial. Kent Biller (Nappanee, Ind./NorthWood) rushed for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Hope (2-6, 2-2 MIAA) massed 269 yards of offense, just 99 yards rushing. Trine finished with 482 yards of total offense, 178 via the rush.
Aaron Selking (Decatur, Ind./Adams Central) had a hand in 12 ½ tackles. Louis Danesi (Sante Fe, Tex.,/Sante Fe) had two sacks. Brandon Killingbeck (Poneto, Ind./Southern Wells) and Tyson Kaase (Syracuse, Ind./Wawasee) each picked off interceptions.
