Loiselle runs for 242 and four touchdowns to lead Macalester

In a game filled with big plays and plenty of penalties, the Scots beat Trinity Bible (N.D.) 41-28 on Senior Night at Macalester Stadium to improve to 4-2 on the season. T. Joe Loiselle (Jr., Chippewa Falls, Wis.) ran for a career-best 242 yards and tied a school record with four touchdowns while averaging over 10 yards per carry. Quick-striking Macalester had five scoring drives which took up less than two minutes off the clock and compiled 450 in offense while only snapping the ball nine times on third down situations.  Mac averaged 7.1 yards per play.

The Scots out-gained the visiting Lions 450-419 in yardage (gaining 331 yards on the ground) and 24-20 in first downs. Jon Elliott (Sr., El Paso, Tex. / Andress) caught four passes for 78 yards a TD for the Scots.  Loiselle ran for three TDs in the first 20 minutes of play and added another scoring run in the second half.

Reid Callahan (Fy., Atlanta, Ga. / St. Pius X) led the Mac defensive unit with 12 tackles, including a quarterback sack and another tackles for loss of yardage, while breaking up one pass. Tyler Hill (So., Beaver Dam, Wis. / Wayland Academy) and Zach Englert (So., Salt Lake City, Utah / Skyline) registered eight tackles apiece. Adam Bunkoske (So., Beaver Dam, Wis. / Wisconsin Lutheran) intercepted a pass and also broke up two more TBC aerials, and David Melms (So., Wauwatosa, Wis. / Wisconsin Lutheran) also picked off a pass.

Mike Adams (So., Chippewa Falls, Wis.) ran for 51 yards on just six carries and also had an exciting 73-yard punt return. Quarterback Clark Bledsoe (So., Jacksonville, Fla. / Episcopal) was an efficient 10-for-16 passing for 119 yards. Auburn Jimenez (Fy., East Los Angeles, Calif. / St. John Bosco) booted field goals from 23- and 37-yard out and had several deep kickoffs.

Each team was flagged for 14 penalties for over 100 yards.

Shean Bosworth caught six passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions (1-5).

The Scots have next weekend off and return to action Oct. 23 against Carleton.
