LEXINGTON, Va. – Averett University scored all 20 of its points in the fourth quarter to post a 20-10 victory over the Washington and Lee football team on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.

The Generals (1-2) jumped out to a 7-0 lead just 5:05 into the game when junior quarterback Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) capped a 10-play, 83-yard drive with a 13-yard touchdown run.

W&L forced three Averett (2-1) turnovers in the first half and maintained its' 7-0 lead until junior placekicker Peter Alston (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) booted a 37-yard field goal to give the Generals a 10-0 advantage with 2:49 remaining in the third quarter.

The Cougars scored their first points on a 45-yard field goal by sophomore placekicker Brad Scott (Rocky Mount, N.C./Nash Central) just 48 seconds into the final period and knotted the game at 10-10 with a 12-play, 71-yard drive that resulted in a 1-yard touchdown run by senior running back James Wilson (Los Angeles, Calif./John Marshall) at the 6:19 mark.
