Stagg Bowl week is here! North Central College and the University of Mount Union are headed to Houston, Texas, this week, for the 51st Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, the championship game of Division III football. Here's what you need to know:
- Game time: Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT
- Location: Shell Energy Stadium, Houston, Texas. Capacity: 22,000. Natural grass. The stadium can be accessed easily by car, bus or METRORail. The EaDo/Stadium station on the Green and Purple lines is right in front of the stadium, which also hosts the Houston Dynamo soccer team.
- Where to watch: Game will be aired on ESPN, the main network.
- Where to listen: We always recommend muting the volume on your TV and syncing it up to listen to our audio broadcast! Pat, Keith, Greg and Frank Rossi will call the game live and the link will be on D3football.com.
- Weather: As seems to always be the case, the days around the game are shaping up to be better than game day. Rain is projected for Sunday, with a high of 76 but a low of 37º. You can guess which is more likely to be the game time temperature.
- Series history: Four meetings, all playoffs, with North Central leading 3-1. In the 2013 semifinals, Mount Union won 41-40 in Alliance, Ohio. North Central has won the rest: a 2019 second-round game in Alliance, a 2021 semifinal in Alliance, and the 2022 Stagg Bowl in Annapolis, Maryland.
We will have coverage all week from Houston, so continue to check out D3football.com!
