Bridgewater senior Davonta Womack closed out his Eagles career in the best possible way - as a national champion. Womack, a sprinter on the Eagles' track and field team and a starting cornerback on the football team, took first place in the 100 meters at the 2019 Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.

Womack edged out his nearest competitor, Ryan Miller of St. John's, finishing in 10.20 seconds. In the process, he set a school record and an Old Dominion Athletic Conference record as well.

In addition to recording 21 tackles and breaking up four passes for the Eagles this past season, Womack had an 18.6-yard average in punt returns, including a 68-yard touchdown.

This was Womack's fifth overall All-American award, third of the championship and second in the 100 meter dash. Womack also earned All-America status in the 4x100 meter relay, along with Eagles wide receiver Alex Galloway, Diante Cannon and Dirk Jones.
