Hickman out as Morris coach

More news about: Minnesota-Morris
Todd Hickman

The University of Minnesota, Morris has announced that head football coach Todd Hickman will not return next season. A national search will begin immediately for a new head coach.

The Cougars were 0-10 this season, their first winless season since transitioning from Division II.

Hickman's son, Cody, was a D3football.com All-Region selection 2013 at linebacker and recently finished his career with 497 total tackles, fourth in Division III history since the NCAA started recognizing tackles as a statistic.

Hickman took over the Cougars program in 2007 after assisting the football program from 1997-2006. He was also a UMM assistant during two other stints, 1989-90 and 1992-93. He is the second-winningest coach all-time at Morris, with 30 wins, behind Al Molde (52 wins in seven seasons).

He finishes with a record 30-47 overall and 22-35 in UMAC play over eight seasons. During his stretch at UMM Hickman coached more than 45 All-UMAC players, one All-Region player and one CoSIDA Academic All-American.
