Friday night: Widener knocks off Rowan

Anthony Davis caught seven passes for 146 yards and Seth Klein threw for two touchdowns as Widener got the season started with a 19-7 upset win at No. 15 Rowan. 

The Profs trailed for most of the game but cut the Pride's lead to 13-7 with 11:34 left in the game. Rowan got to the 9-yard line on its next possession before Bill McCarty threw an interception, and McCarty was picked off on the next possession as well, with Sean Titus returning the pick 39 yards for a TD to deal the game.

Ursinus scored two defensive touchdowns and limited TCNJ to just 177 yards of offense in defeating the Lions 47-7. Tim Rafter and Greg DiSanto each returned interceptions for touchdowns within a minute of each other in the third quarter.

McDaniel scored 20 points in the final seven minutes to rally past Catholic 34-31. The Cardinals missed a potential game-tying field goal from 29 yards out as time expired. Mike Oliveto led the Green Terror with nine catches for 136 yards and a touchdown, while 12 players caught passes for the Cardinals.

Trine and Manchester didn't even get into the second quarter before the game was suspended due to lightning with the game tied 7-7. William Paterson scored 26 points in the third quarter to defeat SUNY-Maritime 36-20.
