The lack of Friday night games in the Midwest makes it difficult to get a road trip into that part of Division III, so sometimes we'll have to take extraordinary steps to make sure we get out of the Pennsylvania/Ohio epicenter. So when we start at Montclair State at Rowan on a Friday night, we're going to be spending a lot of time on the highway. In this case, our target is a 6 p.m. CT game on Saturday, Kalamzoo at Chicago. In between, we recommend UW-Stevens Point at North Central. That's a 12-hour drive with lots of tolls and Chicago traffic, so if you can't make it all the way to Naperville, there's the chance to pick up Olivet at North Park instead, but it doesn't save a lot of time and you don't pick up a ranked team.
If you can't fathom the thought of making that drive, stop instead in Cleveland and see Linfield at Case Western Reserve at noon on Saturday. You could then catch the end of Muskingum at Baldwin Wallace, which kicks off at 2 p.m., then pick up Otterbein at John Carroll at 7 p.m.
Total: Three games, 843 miles start to finish.
