2024 D3football.com All-Region 2 Team

Cortland athletics; Washington & Jefferson athletics

Cortland quarterback Zac Boyes and Washington & Jefferson defensive tackle Dawson Dietz lead the D3football.com 2024 All-Region 2 team. Boyes was named Region 2 Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, while Dietz was named the Region 2 Defensive Player of the Year.

Susquehanna coach Tom Perkovich, who has led the River Hawks to the national quarterfinals for the first time in the program’s history, is the Region 2 Coach of the Year.

NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 2 includes the Centennial Conference, Empire 8, Landmark Conference, Liberty League, New Jersey Athletic Conference and Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

Boyes, a senior from Buffalo, New York, is the first person to repeat as a Player of the Year for the D3football.com All-Region 2 team. He passed for 2,957 yards in 12 games for Cortland, completing 66.9 percent of his passes and throwing 28 touchdowns, with just three interceptions. He also ran for 509 yards and seven additional touchdowns.

Dietz, a senior from Allison Park, Pennsylvania, recorded 67 total tackles, had 22½ tackles for loss, 13 sacks and two pass breakups in 11 games from his defensive tackle spot for the Presidents, who finished the season 9-2 with a trip to the NCAA playoffs.

The teams, selected in balloting by Region 2 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 247 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 81 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
