Bethel quarterback Jaran Roste and UW-Platteville defensive end Justin Blazek lead the D3football.com 2022 All-Region 6 team. Blazek was named Region 6 Defensive Player of the Year, while Roste was named the Region 6 Offensive Player of the Year.
Bethel coach Steve Johnson, who led the Royals to a 10-3 record and the national quarterfinals, is the Region 6 Coach of the Year. It’s his third selection as a D3football.com regional Coach of the Year; he was named West Region Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2010.

NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 6 includes the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Northwest Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
A senior from Alexandria, Minnesota, Roste threw for 2,639 yards and 23 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. He averaged 219.9 yards per game and completed 68.5% of his passes. He also ran for 445 yards and five touchdowns.
Blazek registered 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks from his defensive end position. A senior from Naperville, Illinois, he posted 58 tackles, 26 solo, while breaking up a pair of passes and posting a pair of takeaways in the Pioneers’ 10 games.
The teams, selected in balloting by Region 6 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 192 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 78 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 16, in D3football.com’s pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIX.
