Wayne Ruby, Jr. and Rossy Moore lead the D3football.com 2022 All-Region 4 team. Ruby was named Region 4 Offensive Player of the Year, while Moore was named the Region 4 Defensive Player of the Year.

Alma coach Jason Couch, who led his Scots to an 11-1 season and a second-round appearance in the Division III football playoffs, is the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

The 2022 D3football.com All-Region teams are sponsored by Stevenson University, hosts of Stagg Bowl XLIX, which will be played Friday, Dec. 16, at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. For more information, go to bit.ly/stagg49.

NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 4 includes the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the North Coast Athletic Conference and the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Ruby, a senior wide receiver from Pembroke Pines, Florida, has played in 12 of Mount Union’s games, catching 88 passes for 1,573 yards and 27 of Mount Union’s 54 receiving touchdowns on the season. His season  includes four touchdown catches apiece against first-round playoff opponent Salisbury as well as Ohio Northern. The 27 touchdown catches are a school record for a single season.

Moore, a sophomore linebacker from Lima, Ohio, has registered 17½ tackles for loss and 10½ sacks in his 13 games for Mount Union. He has also been credited with 11 quarterback hurries, forced a fumble, and recorded a safety in Mount Union’s quarterfinal playoff win at Delaware Valley.

The teams, selected in balloting by Region 4 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 159 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 75 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 16, in D3football.com’s pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIX.
