The NESCAC joined the party and snapped D-III's longest winning streak, UW-Stout hit a huge score with 15 seconds to play and Mount St. Joseph and Albion kept things moving along in Week 3 play in Division III football.

It's the second week in a row that the longest active winning streak in Division III was sent packing.

Colby ended the longest active win streak in Division III with a 24-14 win over Williams. Matt Hersch threw for two touchdowns and ran for another for the Mules (1-0, 1-0 NESCAC). Williams quarterback Jack Dickinson squared the game at 14-14 with a pair of touchdown runs in the second quarter, but the Ephs (0-1, 0-1 NESCAC) could not find the end zone in the second half. The loss is Williams' first since November 2, 2019, and it is the first time that Colby has beaten Williams since 2013.

Week 3 is the first week in which NESCAC teams play. The 10-team league plays only its nine-game conference schedule and NESCAC teams do not accept NCAA playoff bids.

A late Wlliams drive was thwarted late in the third quarter when Joshua East intercepted Dickinson at midfield, and Will Nipon made it two on the day by the Colby defense with one minute remaining. Keon Smart ran for a total of 129 yards, while Hersch finished the day 14-for-23 for 177 yards and his two scores. He added 46 yards on the ground. Julian Young led the Mules with 14 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass breakup.

Levy Hamer caught three touchdowns for UW-Stout on Saturday, but it was his 62-yard touchdown with 15 seconds to play that lifted UW-Stout to a 28-25 victory at Gustavus Adolphus. Blue Devils (1-1) quarterback Sean Borgerding threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns in the dramatic win. Daniel Rennie had a standout game for the Gusties (1-1), throwing for 467 yards in the loss. UW-Stout trailed 25-20 late in the fourth quarter as the Golden Gusties tried to run out the clock. The Blue Devil defense forced a punt and Stout took over with 54 seconds remaining. The Blue Devils were down to their last play, facing a fourth-and-2 on their own 38 with just seconds left on the clock when Borgerding found Hamer for the game winner.

Albion cruised to 3-0 with a comfortable 49-17 win over Rose-Hulman. Luke Lowell accounted for all seven of the Briton touchdowns, throwing six and running for the seventh. Leading 14-10 in the second quarter, Albion scored touchdowns on five consecutive possessions to run away from the Engineers (0-3). Mark Tocco and Brendan Teal each caught two touchdowns for Albion. Daniel Huery led the Engineers with nine receptions and 108 receiving yards.

Mount St. Joseph helped the HCAC avoid a sweep in Saturday's HCAC-MIAA crossover, holding off Hope 33-28. Hope fell behind by multiple scores for the third consectuve game to start this season, however the Flying Dutchmen (2-1) could not complete a comeback this time. The Lions (3-0) jumped out to a 13-0 lead following two Cornell Beachem, Jr. touchdown runs in the first quarter, and never relinquished the lead. Josh Taylor threw for 352 yards in the winning effort for the Lions. Adam Vander Kooy led Hope with 7 tackles while collecting his fourth interception of the season.

"You can't expect to win a game when you turn the ball over that many times and you have that many penalties," Hope coach Peter Stuursma said after the game. "We never led, and yet we had the ball, first down on the (MSJ) 12-yard-line, and we went backwards."

John Carroll won the Cuyahoga Gold Bowl for the 10th consecutive season, as the Blue Streaks defeated Baldwin Wallace 21-7. JCU (1-1, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) entered the fourth quarter up 14-0 and increased that advantage to 21-0 with a JohnMarcus Roland pick-six. BW (0-3, 0-1) answered with a touchdown on a 64-yard pass to Mikel Love but the ensuing onside kick was recovered by John Carroll to seal the victory.

Brockport kept Rochester running back Daniel Papantonis in check as the Golden Eagles won 23-3 on the road. The Yellowjackets (1-2) entered third in the Division III with over 370 rushing yards per game, while Brockport (2-1) had the nation's 24th ranked defense, surrendering just 217 yards per contest. In the contest, Rochester ended with just 113 yards on the ground and 244 overall. Papantonis was held to 64 yards on 19 carries. The Golden Eagles rushing attack was led by Rashad Law who had 109 yards on 21 attempts, including a touchdown.

Wilkes opened its final season in the MAC by rolling up 601 yards on offense and blasting Widener, 44-20. Isaiah Rodriguez threw for 319 yards and three scores and the Colonels ran Elijah Jules for 180 yards and a score. The Colonels (3-0, 1-0 MAC) will move to the Landmark Conference next season.

Lebanon Valley began the MAC slate with a 17-14 overtime win at FDU-Florham behind a strong defensive performance including two fourth quarter interceptions. Nick Morder picked off his second pass of the game at the LVC 9-yard line with 7:14 to go in the fourth. The Dutchmen went 91 yards over the next 2:45 ending with a 51-yard bomb from Braden Bohannon to Malaki Blair tying the game at 14 with 4:29 left. Ryan Enright sent the game to overtime with his first career interception in the final minute of regulation. The Devils got the ball first in the overtime period and missed a 37-yard field goal attempt. The Dutchmen used three plays to set up kicker Devin Crone for the potential game-winning field goal. Crone stepped up and drilled a 36-yarder through the uprights giving the Dutchmen the victory.

Wartburg improved to 3-0 with a dominating 62-0 win against Luther, as the Knights held Luther to just 37 yards of total offense. Wartburg has outscored its opponents 123-7 through three weeks.

Logan Kitselman's 5-yard touchdown catch from Ryan Blair with 1:25 left lifted Whitworth to a 12-7 win over visiting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Whitworth outgained CMS 251-148. The Pirates (2-1) got on the board when Derrick Platt sacked CMS quarterback Zach Fogel midway through the second quarter in the end zone for a safety, and Alvaro Campos-Ontiveros kicked a career-long 43 yards field goal on the last play of the first half to cut Whitworth's deficit to 12-7.

Liam Thompson completed 28 of 31 passes for 435 yards and four touchdowns as Wabash rolled past Wooster, 48-14. The Scots were looking to be the first team to beat the Little Giants in three consecutive seasons since DePauw won five straight against Wabash from 1996-2000. Wooster got as close as 21-14 early in the second quarter on a Mateo Renteria fourth-down sneak but Wabash scored three more touchdowns before halftime and won going away.

Despite leading 20-7 at halftime, Keystone fell just short of the program's first-ever victory, falling at William Paterson 27-20. With 2:22 left in the opening half, Sean Pettway intercepted WPU's quarterback and returned it 45 yards for the pick six to give the Giants a 20-7 advantage at intermission. However, the Pioneers outscored Keystone 20-0 in the second half, thanks to a pair of rushing scores by Nazir Dale, to secure the come-from-behind win. Dale finished with 206 yards on 33 carries.

Plymouth State twice rallied from a two-touchdown deficit and senior Quinn Girard broke up a game-tying TD throw in the end zone in the final seconds as the Panthers held off Bridgewater State 41-34. Manny Sanchez punched the ball in from a yard out to give the Panthers their first lead, 34-28, with nine minutes remaining, but Bridgewater State answered on the next possession. The visitors had a chance for the lead, but a botched point after kept the score tied and senior Jake Donahue broke a tackle and found the end zone for a 28-yard TD reception to put PSU up for good with four minutes left. Bridgewater State moved the ball to the PSU 4-yard line in the final minute, but a holding penalty and 10-yard sack by junior Collin Crowe made it fourth-and-goal for the Bears from the PSU 26-yard line. BSU nearly tied the game as the fourth down throw was in the hands of a receiver in the end zone, but Girard was able to knock the ball loose to seal the win.

It was a big turnaround from Week 2 to Week 3 for Wisconsin Lutheran, as the Warriors nearly put up a bagel in losing the donut in the Glazer Bowl to Carroll last week. This time around, Wisconsin Lutheran held on to defeat Lakeland 25-21 behind four field goals from Arnulfo Ortega and a 74-yard touchdown catch by Carter Schneider. The Warriors held Jatron Bevly to 141 yards and three touchdowns and Robert Michael had 131 yards rushing and 117 yards passing.

Mass-Dartmouth scored early and often and the defense forced six turnovers as the Corsairs defeated Framingham State, 46-21, for the first win over the Rams since 2016. Dante Aviles-Santos had another stellar performance with 321 passing yards and four TDs through the air. Making his Corsair debut, sophomore WR Angel Sanchez exploded for 161 yards and two touchdowns on five receptions.
