Lewis and Clark kept its unlikely unbeaten streak alive, beating its toughest opponent to date in a 34-32 win against Pacific Lutheran.

The win gives the Pioneers the first real boost to their woeful strength of schedule, headed into Week 10 and Week 11 matchups with Willamette and Linfield.

Snow loaded down much of the east coast, keeping scores low, or unpredicatble. Lycoming and Widener kept pace with Delaware Valley on the Aggies' bye week, with Lycoming winning 10-7 at Lebanon Valley and Widener rolling past Albright 60-20. Hampden-Sydney won a shootout with Guilford 63-49 to remain unbeaten in the ODAC, a half-game behind Washington and Lee after the Generals' Friday night win. The 49 was three touchdowns more than Guilford had scored in a game this season and came on seven Zac Halbert touchdown passes. Centre improved to 7-0 for the first since 1989, defeating Millsaps 24-22. The Colonels will play Trinity (Texas) for what could be the SCAC's final automatic bid to the Division III playoffs, at least for a while.

McMurry defeated crosstown rival Hardin-Simmons 24-14, marking the War Hawks' first win in the series since the Cowboys restarted their football program more than 20 years ago. And it will likely be the last, since McMurry is moving to Division II next fall.

It took a pair of overtimes, but Whitworth eventually beat Willamette 25-24 when Austin Ehlo caught a touchdown pass to pull the Pirates within one and then scored the two-point conversion to claim the victory. Elsewhere in the NWC, Pacific won its first game since reinstating football last year. The Boxers knocked off Puget Sound 44-25 with 469 yards of total offense.

Case Western Reserve kept its hopes for an at-large bid to the NCAA playoffs alive with a 6-0 win over Chicago. The Spartans held the Maroons to 3 yards on 23 carries. Union won the Dutchman Shoes Trophy from archrival RPI, 38-28. Drew Connolly tied his own school record with five touchdown passes for the Dutch.

Albion clinched a share of the MIAA title and the automatic bid, handing Adrian its first loss 28-14. Grove City beat Washington and Jefferson for the first time since 1998, defeating the Presidents 24-21. North Park lost a close game for the second consecutive week, falling to Carthage 31-28. Cornell had a long fumble return to beat Loras 19-17. It's just the second conference win in 48 games for Cornell. Western New England pulled into a first-place tie with Endicott in their division of the NEFC, defeating the Gulls 40-37.

After three consecutive shutouts, Trinity (Conn.) finally gave up points against Middlebury. But the Bantams still rolled to their 12th straight victory, 42-7. They play at Amherst next weekend. The Lord Jeffs stayed undefeated with a 30-0 shutout win over Tufts.

Stevenson notched its first conference victory in the MAC by beating FDU-Florham, 36-13. Ithaca still has hopes of extending its streak of consecutive winning seasons, with Andrew Rogowski kicking a 34-yard field goal on the game's final play to defeat Frostburg State 13-10.
