Offense
QB Chase Belton, Jr., Wabash
Belton threw for three TD passes and rushed for two more in just
over two quarters of play on Saturday in the Little Giants' 49-0
win over Kenyon. Belton carried the ball five times for 110 yards
and was 11-for-13 passing for 203 yards and three touchdowns.
OL Devin Martin, Bob Schmitz, Luke
Gogerty, Kyle Shrout, Mike Micca, John Carroll
The starting five helped JCU amass a season-high 597
yards of total offense without allowing a sack. John Carroll also
had 379 net rushing yards -- the most by a Blue Streak team since
Nov. 6, 1993 (390 vs. Hiram).
RB Scottie Williams, Jr.,
Elmhurst
Williams rushed for a career-high 235 yards and scored
three touchdowns in the Bluejays' 59-6 win over North Park. He
became the first Bluejay to run for more than 200 yards in a game
since 1995. Williams averaged a whopping 12.4 yards per carry and
scored on touchdown runs of two, 32, and nine yards.
RB Justin Spaulding, Sr.,
Dubuque
Spaulding ran for 192 yards on 28 carries,
scoring three touchdowns in a 42-21 win against Simpson.
WR Justin Gallo, Sr.,
Union
Gallo had seven catches for 234 yards and three touchdowns in
Union's 34-31 win over WPI. His TDs were for 33, 28 and 86 yards,
with the 86-yarder a career high. He has had 471 yards in two
weeks.
WR Aden Twer, So.,
Gettysburg
Twer caught seven passes for 214 yards and two
touchdowns -- including a game-winning 33-yard grab with 1:50 left
-- in Gettysburg's 44-37 victory at McDaniel. Twer also had a
53-yard TD reception, and his other five catches went for 34, 24,
21, 8, and 41 yards. In addition, he drew a pair of pass
interference penalties, the second of which helped lead to a Bullet
touchdown.
TE Billy Chapman, Jr.,
Middlebury
Chapman set personal game-highs with 10 catches and 139 yards,
with a touchdown in a 41-15 win against Colby. Eight of his 10
catches went for first downs.
Defense
DE Chris Mayes, Sr., Wesley
Mayes led Wesley with eight tackles, including three for loss and
a sack in a win over Division I FCS Charleston Southern. He also
forced a fumble.
DT Edmond Smith, Sr.,
Augsburg
Smith led the Auggies with a career-high 16 tackles (five solo),
including a half-sack, 2.0 tackles for-loss and a fumble recovery,
in Augsburg's 35-14 win against Carleton. Augsburg's defense
limited the Knights to 63 total yards in the second half -- 10
passing. Smith had seven assisted tackles, including 1.5 for-loss,
in the second half. He was part of at least one tackle on five of
Carleton's eight second-half drives. He recovered a fumble with
2:18 left in the game that started Augsburg's final scoring drive
of the afternoon.
DE Frank Gigler, Sr., Washington and
Jefferson
Gigler had six total tackles, five solo, four for
a loss and two sacks in a 20-16 win against Westminster
(Pa.).
LB John Redmond, Sr.,
Shenandoah
Redmond had four tackles for loss and two sacks
in a 30-7 win against Greensboro. He finished with nine tackles,
five solo.
LB Greg Arnold, Sr.,
UW-Whitewater
Arnold was credited with two solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles,
with two for a loss of six yards in the Warhawks' 34-14 win against
UW-Platteville.
LB Bryan Garbarino, Sr.,
Adrian
Garbarino led the Bulldogs with 10 tackles and an interception as
Adrian upended defending MIAA champion Trine, 26-7, snapping the
Thunder’s 20-game conference winning streak that dated to
2007. The Bulldogs limited Trine to 278 yards total offense and
forced five turnovers.
LB Pasquale Vacchio, Jr., Buffalo
State
His pick-6 early in the third quarter gave the Bengals their first
lead, and Buffalo State did not look back in a 42-27 homecoming
victory over William Paterson. He had 11 tackles, five solo, and
was in on four tackles for loss and two sacks.
CB Dave Vosburgh, Sr., St. John
Fisher
Vosburgh had a game-high 13 tackles, six solo, forced a fumble and
had one pass breakup in a 17-3 victory against No. 14 Alfred.
S Ryan Fenningham, Jr.,
Lycoming
Fenningham was a key part of the secondary that helped hold
Division III's sixth-ranked statistical passing offense to 123
yards. He notched seven tackles and had three pass breakups, one on
a pass to the end zone, but most importantly, he sealed the win
with an eight-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the fourth
quarter to give the Warriors' the final 22-point margin in the
35-13 win.
S Tyler Levanduski, Jr.,
Heidelberg
Levanduski tallied a team-high 10 tackles, all solo stops, and a
pass breakup in Heidelberg's 55-3 win against Capital.
CB Spence White, Sr.,
Ithaca
White led Ithaca with 10 tackles, nine of them solo, forced a
fumble and recovered two fumbles in the Bomber win at Hartwick. He
also blocked a first-quarter field goal attempt.
Special teams
K Allen Cain, Jr., Texas
Lutheran
Cain made three field goals - from 44, 29 and 23 yards - in the
Bulldogs' 43-26 win at Sul Ross State. Cain also booted home all
four of his point-after attempts. The 44-yarder was the
second-longest field goal of Cain's career.
P Kevin Quicker, Sr., North Carolina
Wesleyan
Quicker averaged 34.7 yards per kick as three of his six punts
were inside the 20-yard line as the Battling Bishops shut out
Averett 29-0.
RET Dan Ruffrage, Sr.,
Ithaca
Ruffrage made one of the game's key plays with a 91-yard
kickoff return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of an Ithaca
win at Hartwick. He also had three punt returns for 50
yards.
H Kevin Schams, Jr., UW-La
Crosse
Schams, the holder on extra-point and field goal attempts, threw a
25-yard touchdown pass to Nate Ward with 9:46 left in the fourth
quarter on a fake field goal attempt in UW-L's 31-28 victory over
UW-Stevens Point. The touchdown pass cut the lead to 28-21.
ST Cody Allen, Sr., Cortland
State
Allen blocked two punts in Cortland's 55-14 win vs. Morrisville
State.
