Today's Contest
This the seventh game of the 2023 season, the third road and sixth Ohio Athletic Conference game for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it travels to Westerville to take on Otterbein University. BW defeated Muskingum University by a final score of 34-22 last Saturday night.  Otterbein fell to Heidelberg University by a final score of 28-8 last Saturday.

The Series
BW and Otterbein are meeting for the 54th time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets hold a 40-12-1 all-time series, including winning the past four meetings. In the last four meetings, the Yellow Jackets have outscored the Cardinals by a margin of 154-55. The series began in 1925 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Cardinals, 7-0, in Berea.

Hilvert is in his seventh  season at BW and has a record of  39-19 and Ohio Athletic Conference slate of 33-17. He is 106-45 in his 15th overall season.   Hilvert is 4-1 all-time  versus Otterbein

Otterbein Head Coach Tommy Zagorski
Zagorski  is in his first season at Otterbein and has a record of 0-6 and an OAC mark of 0-5.    

Last Game vs. Otterbein -- October 22,  2022
BW scored 35 points on 186 yards rushing and 142 yards passing for 328  total yards.  Otterbein  scored 14 points on 143  yards passing and 96 yards passing for 239 total yards.  

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week six of the season, BW scored 34 points on 209 yards passing and 104 yards rushing for 313 total yards.  Muskingum scored 22  points on 239 yards passing and 119 yards rushing for 358  total yards. 

BW Leaders
Offensively, freshman quarterback Charlie Bubonics (Solon), who made his first collegiate start last week, has completed 14-of-27 passes for 213 yards with two touchdowns. Senior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton), who started the first five games, has completed 87-of-152 passes for an OAC fifth best 1119 yards with 11 touchdowns. Junior  running back Victor Ford, Jr. (Cleveland/Shaker Heights) leads the ground game with an OAC fifth best 401 yards on 67 carries with an OAC fourth tying four touchdowns.  Sophomore running back George Linberger (Barberton/St. Vincent-St. Mary) has rushed for an OAC seventh best 362 yards on 77 carries with three touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver Tim Conwell (Avon) leads the receiving unit with 21 catches for 206 yards with two touchdowns. Senior Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak), who is also starting at corner back, is second on the team with 17 catches for 178 yards with two touchdowns Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla./South Walton) leads the team and is second in the OAC with 62 tackles.

Scouting the Cardinals
In week six of the season, Otterbein scored eight points on 110  yards rushing and 88 yards passing for 198 total yards.  Heidelberg was scored 28 points on 175 yards rushing and 70 yards passing for 245 total yards. 

Otterbein Leaders
Offensively, senior quarterback Eason Hardouin has completed 64-of-121 passes for 622 yards with three touchdowns.  Freshman quarterback Lorenzen Horace has completed 44-of-100 passes for 502 yards with six touchdowns.  Junior running back Ahjay Cody has rushed for 329 yards on 87 carries with two touchdowns.  Armani Burton is the top target as he has caught 19 passes for 221 yards with two touchdowns.  Defensively, Senior linebacker Tayon Howard tops the team with an OAC third best 58 tackles. Senior linebacker Bobby Buckler is second on the squad and tied for fifth in the OAC with 53 stops. 

Tackling to Weekly Honor
Levasseur is this week's OAC defenisve Player of the Week. Levasseur garners his first career weekly accolade  after recording a game-high and career-high tying 13 tackles with a sack, tackle for loss, fumble recovery and a 68-yard interception return for a touchdown as time expired in BW's 34-22 victory over Muskingum.   His interception return for a touchdown was his first collegiate score.
