BW's Evans Garners First Career OAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University football freshman placekicker and punter Joseph Evans (Chardon) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Evans garners his first accolade after going a perfect 4-of-4 in extra point attempts, hitting a career-long 28-yard field goal, and punting five times for yards with a long of 177 for an average of 35.4 with a long of 47 yards and two punts inside the 20-yard line in BW's 31-21 road victory over Ohio Northern University last Saturday.

This season, he leads the team in scoring with 23 points.  Evans has converted 14-of-16 extra points and has booted 3-of-4 field goals.  Since taking over the punting duties two weeks ago, he has punted the ball 13 times for 512 yards for an average of 39.4 with a long of 54 yards and six punts inside the 20-yard line.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 30 when they return home for their fourth of six home games in an OAC and Homecoming clash against Marietta College on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 2 p.m.  Fans can watch the action live at https://bwyellowjackets.cc/48uuiCE
