2022 PLU Football Schedule

TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University football program announced its fall schedule on Thursday with the Lutes fielding a full 10-game regular season slate for the first time in school history.

PLU will play three non-conference games this season— one in Minnesota, one in California, and another at Sparks Stadium before embarking on its traditional Northwest Conference slate.

In all, PLU will play five games at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup and six games in the greater Tacoma area.

"We're very excited to be announcing a 10 game schedule for PLU Football for the first time ever. It can be challenging scheduling D3 opponents with our distance to the rest of the division out here in the Pacific Northwest, so it takes a commitment from the department and the school to make sure we can play a complete schedule; and for that, we're very grateful," said Head Coach Brant McAdams.

"Our program thrives on competition and there's no better way to set the tone than by competing against a top 20 team right out of the gate. Bethel is a great program and first class in how they do things. Our team is excited to take on a ranked team before heading into our competitive NWC schedule."

The season begins in the Twin Cities with a matchup with national power Bethel University on September 3. PLU has a bye week before heading to California for another showdown with the University of La Verne.

The Lutes open their home slate on Sept. 24 with California Lutheran University coming to town.

PLU opens NWC play the following week in Newberg, Oregon at George Fox University before hosting Lewis & Clark College for Homecoming on Oct. 8. The Lutes remain at home on Oct. 15, hosting Whitworth University.

PLU heads to McMinnville, Oregon on Oct. 22 to face defending NWC Champion Linfield University before closing the month on Oct. 29 by hosting Willamette University.

The Lutes are hosted by University of Puget Sound on Nov. 5 for the 98th edition of the crosstown rivalry and for possession of The Trophy before wrapping the regular season on Nov. 12 at Sparks Stadium for Senior Day against Pacific University.

All start times are 1 p.m. with the exception of the La Verne game kicking off at 7 p.m.
