TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The 2022 Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football schedule features matchups against two defending NCAA Division III conference championship teams, highlighted by a rematch of a 2021 NCAA Division III Playoff game.
Rose-Hulman opens the 2022 season with a rematch of the 2021 NCAA Division III Playoff Game at DePauw University. The Tigers are the defending champions of the North Coast Athletic Conference. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm on Sept. 3.
The Fightin' Engineers then host back-to-back home games on Sept. 10 and Sept. 17. The home opener on Sept. 10 at 7 pm is a rematch of Rose-Hulman's 31-30 win at Trine University last season. The Sept. 17 matchup against Albion at noon highlights the HCAC / MIAA Challenge and features a matchup of the defending league champion in each conference.
Rose-Hulman's first HCAC home game will be the Homecoming showdown with Manchester University on Saturday Oct. 8 at 2 pm. Early October road games feature a matchup at Anderson on Oct. 1 and at Bluffton on Oct. 15.
The home schedule concludes with back-to-back games against Franklin (Oct. 22) and Defiance (Oct. 29) in a pair of 1:30 pm kickoffs. The schedule concludes with road contests against perennial HCAC title contenders Hanover (Nov. 5) and Mount St. Joseph (Nov. 12).
Rose-Hulman finished 8-3 last season and qualified for the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the second time in program history before falling 26-21 at DePauw. The Fightin' Engineers also won their 13th football conference championship and the 3rd since 2013 last year.
