Tommies' conference win streak hits 30

Senior running back Josh Parks rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns and the No. 3-ranked Tommies had four takeaways in Saturday's 46-7 MIAC football win at Concordia-Moorhead.

St. Thomas (4-0 overall, 2-0 MIAC), which raced to a 36-0 halftime lead, has won 30 in a row against MIAC opponents, including 29 regular-season contests and one playoff game.

The Tommie defense recovered three first-half fumbles, including senior Adam Brant's scoop and score from 40 yards out that pushed the lead to 21-0 after one period.

The Toms are plus 12 in takeaways with 16 gained and four lost in their 4-0 start, and have allowed just 14 points in 16 quarters this season.

Senior QB Jacques Perra completed 17-of-27 passes for 204 yards, one TD and one interception in his three quarters of play, with nine different receivers making at least one catch. His 8-yard TD pass to Stephen Wagner extended a streak of 26 consecutive games that a St. Thomas QB has thrown a touchdown pass. UST converted 4-of-6 on fourth downs to keep drives alive.

Junior Nick Raddatz had a 54-yard punt return to set up a second-quarter TD and also had an interception. Junior Gabe Green caught five passes for 60 yards.

The only previous loss of 2018 for the Cobbers (3-2, 2-1) came on the road at top-10 ranked UW-Whitewater, 24-6. UST outgained Concordia 390-233 in total yards. The Cobbers' 10-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter ended a UST defensive scoreless streak at 14 quarters.

Nick Raddatz had a second-half interception; Mark Dowdle and Blake Weber had fumble recoveries; David Danhauer had a forced fumble and a sack; and Matt Mitchell had 10 tackles and a forced fumble. UST had seven tackles for loss and has has 46 in four games on the season.
