Visiting Carnegie Mellon University scored twice in the last nine minutes of the second quarter to pull away from the University of Rochester enroute to a 31-7 Division III football victory at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

Alex Cline threw touchdown passes to Karl Kumm (10 yards with 8:45 left in the period) and 23 yards to Alec Oshita (with 59 seconds left). It pushed CMU into a 21-7 lead at he break.

Carnegie's offense was led by Rory Hubbard. He rushed 20 times for 190 yards and scored one TD. The Tartans (1-0) rolled up 324 yards on the ground, 109 through the air.
