CLAREMONT — Chris Garcia had 10 tackles for the second consecutive week and Carlton O'Neal had five catches for 73 yards, including a long of 24 yards against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at Zinda Field on Saturday.
The Tigers played well in spurts, but couldn't get over the hump on offense, falling 37-0.
O'Neal was on the other end of a few consecutive completions from Josh Greaves during the second quarter.
Greaves finished the game 12 of 19 for 103 yards.
Oxy wide receiver Ian Bonde, who scored a pair of touchdowns last weekend, was Oxy's second best offensive performer, grabbing four balls for 27 yards.
Chris Garcia and Jackson Caudle led Oxy's defense with 10 tackles each. Travis Swanson had seven tackles and a fumble recovery, Josiah Sheffie had seven tackles and a pass break up, and Joey Garza had six tackles with a two-yard sack. Christian Clark intercepted a tipped pass in the fourth quarter.
Season Impact: Oxy falls to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in SCIAC play.
CMS improves to 3-1 and 2-0.
Next Game: Oxy is back in action for its homecoming game on Oct. 14 against La Verne at 1 p.m. at Jack Kemp Stadium.
