No. 22/23 Wesley rolls through William Paterson for second-straight shutout

WAYNE, N.J. – The No. 22/23 ranked Wesley College football team cruised to their second consecutive shutout victory with a 66-0 win over the William Paterson Pioneers in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action on Saturday.

The Wesley defense held William Paterson to 20 yards of total offense, forced four turnovers and only allowed two first downs.  The Wesley offense totaled 441 yards and scored seven touchdowns on the ground. 

Running back E.J. Lee carried the ball 13 times for 128 yards and five touchdowns in the first half. His five touchdowns on the ground tied the single-game record for rushing touchdowns. In total, 11 Wolverines carried the ball. Gyair Sharper and Chandler Armstrong each registered their first collegiate touchdowns in the second half.

Quarterback Khaaliq Burroughs went 9-for-13 for 123 yards and a touchdown to James Okike.

The Wolverines tallied 11 tackles for loss. Samer Manna paced the defense with eight tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Manna also forced and recovered a first quarter fumble. DaJahn Lowery returned an interception 57 yards for a touchdown in the opening quarter.
