Cameron Cook Wins MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week after Record-Setting Performance

More news about: Adrian

FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College senior placekicker Cameron Cook, of Linden High School, was named Monday the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week. He also earned the award on Sep 6, 2016, during his junior campaign.

During Adrian's 62-7 non-conference victory over Rockford, the criminal justice set a school record for most points by a kicker with 14 to break the previous mark of 12 (at Pacific--Ore., Sep. 2, 2016) he held with Justin Warner against Wisconsin Lutheran on Oct 27, 2007. Cook was perfect in both extra-points (8-for-8) and field goals (2-for-2) against the Regents. His field goal distances were 45 and 22 yards, with the former capping a 14-play, 72-yard drive in 7 minutes and 32 seconds of elapsed time.

Currently, Cook is 3-for-4 on field goals and has made 10-of-11 PAT attempts for 19 points in two games.

Heading into Saturday's game at Wisconsin-Stevens Point (5 p.m. Eastern; Video/LiveStats), Cook ranks second in Bulldogs history with 24 field goals made, 90 PAT made and 107 PAT attempted while setting the all-time benchmark with 46 field goals attempted (James Spencer (33-of-44 from 2003-06). He also is sixth with 162 career points scored.
