Tommies back on track with road shutout at Carleton

No. 10-ranked St. Thomas (3-1 overall, 1-0 MIAC) rolled up 651 yards of offense en route to a 63-0 win over Carleton (0-3, 0-1) in the conference opener for both teams Saturday in Northfield, Minn.

Quarterback Jacques Perra and two backups passed for 426 yards and four TDs with no interceptions. Perra was 14-of-20 for 327 yards. Tucker Trettel rushed five times for 88 yards, and Jordan Roberts rushed for 77 yards and had his 23rd and 24th touchdowns in 20 games with the Tommies. Receivers Luke Iverson, Vinny Pallini and Gabe Green combined to catch 13 passes for 235 yards and one TD each.

Seven different Tommies scored touchdowns. UST converted eight of its first nine third-down conversion tries, and didn't punt until late third quarter.

UST led 49-0 at halftime and was able to play its starters just one series each on offense and defense in the second half. 

For the UST defense, Adam Kraft, Austin Lorch, Isaac Seering and Tobias Knight had interceptions, and George Hottinger recovered a fumble.

St. Thomas plays unbeaten and No. 7-ranked St. John's next Saturday in Target Field.
