TACOMA, Wash. -The Pacific Lutheran University football team's scheduled home opener on Saturday against Warner University (Florida) has been canceled due to the fallout from Hurricane Irma.
Warner, located in Lake Wales, Florida, is currently dealing with the aftermath of the devastating storm and has canceled classes for the remainder of the week. Hurricane Irma, in addition to causing widespread destruction to the Sunshine State, has already caused the cancelation of two of the Royals' football games this season.
The Lutes (0-1) will be back on the gridiron on Sept. 30, hosting crosstown rival University of Puget Sound at 1 p.m. at Sparks Stadium to open up Northwest Conference play.
