Johns Hopkins posted an 11-1 record, won an eighth consecutive Centennial Conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Playoffs for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in five years. Johns Hopkins was ranked in the top 15 throughout the 2016 season and remains one of just four Division III teams to be ranked in the top 20 in the nation every week since the start of the 2012 season (Johns Hopkins, Mount Union, Linfield, Mary Hardin-Baylor).
