THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime Athletics Department has announced that Anthony Pedrotti has been hired to serve as the department's Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, and will also serve as an assistant coach on the Maritime football staff.

"I am very thankful for the opportunity that [Head Football] Coach Clayton Kendrick-Holmes and Director of Athletics Heather MacCulloch have given me," commented Pedrotti. "I'm very excited to help all of Maritime's student-athletes reach their potential in the weight room, as well as the playing field."

As the head strength & conditioning coach Pedrotti will manage the strength and conditioning program utilized by all 15 of the Privateers athletic teams. He will instruct, educate and supervise all student-athletes in proper weight training techniques and helped coordinate sport-specific programs.

In addition to his role as strength & conditioning coach, Pedrotti will also be a member of the Maritime football staff for his first season beginning in the fall of 2015. In that role, he will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the football program, including on- and off-campus recruiting, as well as practice and game preparation and management.

"I'm thrilled to have Tony on board for the end of the school year and May recruiting," said Kendrick-Holmes. "His enthusiastic attitude towards Division III football, passion for coaching and player development and deep New York roots will be a force multiplier on our staff and team."

Pedrotti comes to Maritime from Bethany College in Bethany West Virginia, where he served as the offensive line and tight ends coach and strength coordinator for the Bison as he helped the team to a 6-5 record, including four wins in Presidents Athletic Conference play.

As strength coach, he was in charge of creating the team lifting plans, while supervising the department's weight room activities, as well as providing athletes with personal nutritional plans.

While at Bethany, he was responsible for running individual meetings for both the offensive line, and tight ends. He also assisted with everyday practice planning. While there he was also responsible for recruiting the Youngstown, Ohio area as his primary recruiting area, in addition to the Central New York, Southwest United States, and Space Coast of Florida areas.

In his first season at Bethany in 2013, Pedrotti was a member of the Bison coaching staff in the role of running backs coach, tight ends coach, and again served as strength coordinator.  While there in 2013, he held numerous responsibilities, and was also in charge of all aspects of the defensive and special team scout teams.

Pedrotti graduated from SUNY Cortland with his Bachelor's Degree, all while playing as a four-year member of the Red Dragon football squad as an offensive lineman. He served as the team's primary snapper in his 2012 senior season, and played all of the team's offensive line positions throughout his career.

While on the field at Cortland, Pedrotti was a part of 35 wins over his four years with the team, including three "Cortaca Jug" victories in the team's annual season finale against local rival Ithaca College.

During his senior season, the team went 9-2, including an NCAA Tournament First Round victory over Framingham State.
