Gallaudet's Adham Talaat invited to tryout with the Seattle Seahawks

More news about: Gallaudet

WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University's Adham Talaat (Springfield, Va.) will get a chance to tryout for a NFL team this week as the reigning Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks have invited the Bison defensive end to its rookie minicamp.

"I am very grateful for this opportunity from the best organization in the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks! I am very motivated to shake off the Division III stigma that I feel impacted me during the NFL Draft," said Talaat, reached via text on Saturday night by the Gallaudet Sports Information Office. "I believe I belong at this level and I am very excited for the chance to prove it. I am ready to get to work and learn. I will not disappoint!"

Seattle was one of the six NFL teams that were present on April 9 for Talaat's Pro Day at Gallaudet, the first in school history. The Seahawks are familiar with players who are deaf and hard of hearing as fullback Derrick Coleman, who is deaf, made Seattle's 53-man roster last season.

Talaat is still free to sign with any NFL team during this process. Seattle's minicamp is slated to run from Thursday, May 15, through Sunday, May 18. Talaat, who was slated to walk, will miss Gallaudet's graduation this Friday.
