Sadik-Khan Named National Academic All-American

More news about: Middlebury

Middlebury College tight end William Sadik-Khan (Chappaqua, N.Y.) has been named District I First-Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is just the fourth player in school history to earn the award, joining Paul Righi (Men's Basketball in '82), John Humphrey (Men's Basketball in '88) and Andrew Harris (Men's Basketball in '08). Sadik-Khan and his teammates finished the season with a 7-1 mark, earning a share of the NESCAC Championship.

Sadik-Khan had a breakout performance at tight end in 2013, catching a NESCAC-leading 12 touchdown passes, with 59 catches for 633 yards for an average of 79.1 yards - each good for second place in the conference as a receiver. Sadik-Khan, a first-team All-NESCAC and All-New England selection, had three-touchdown performances twice this season. He caught a season-high 11 passes in a season-opening win at Bowdoin, while pulling down a season-best 124 receiving yards in a November 2nd victory over Hamilton. The senior caught five or more passes in every game this season, finding the end zone in seven of eight games.

Sadik-Khan majors in economics and boasts a 3.50 GPA.
