JACKSON, Miss. – Mike Barthelemy ran for five touchdowns and 120 yards as Millsaps College defeated Berry College, 38-3, on Saturday.

The Majors improved to 8-0 and 4-0 in the Southern Athletic Association. Berry dropped to 1-8 and 0-5.

"We played a very good team today in Millsaps," said Head Coach Tony Kunczewski. "They are well-coached and running on all cylinders right now."

GC's lone points came on a 30-yard field goal by Campbell Harrison with 8:33 remaining in the contest. The Vikings took over on the MC's 30-yard line after a botched punt. They were aided on the four-play, 18-yard drive by a pass interference call on the Majors.

The second half was even as Millsaps' lone score was a 42-yard third-quarter field goal by Beau Brady.

Berry trailed at halftime, however, 35-0. The Majors scored touchdowns on four straight possessions en route to the win.

On defense, The Vikings got 11 tackles from Bryce Bailey and 10 from Anthony BateyBradley Browngrabbed an interception and Dan Ebert recorded six tackles, with two for losses.

Quarterback Sandon Mims was 12-32 for 129 yards passing, but he threw two interceptions. Christopher Lilly had 104 all-purpose yards, including 75 on kick returns.

"I am proud of the way our guys fought in the second half," Kunczewski said. "They continue to impress us with their attitudes and work ethic. That's a big positive we will take into next week."

The Vikings host Sewanee next Saturday. The Berry season finale begins at 2 p.m. at Barron Stadium.
