THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Cal Lutheran football standouts Justin Haulcy-Bateman and Luis Villavicencio worked out for National Football League (NFL) scouts on Tuesday afternoon during the program's "Pro Day."
Two of Cal Lutheran's D3football.com All-Americans put their skills on full display for scouts representing teams that included the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The duo took part in several drills including the more popular 40-yard dash, bench press, and vertical jump.
Both were senior defensive backs on the 2011 Cal Lutheran football team that went undefeated in conference play en route to a third straight Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title.
Head Coach Ben McEnroe enjoyed being a part of his first Cal Lutheran "Pro Day." With the facilities, atmosphere and talent on display he is certain the scouts came away with a good impression of the institution and his players.
Cal Lutheran is hoping to schedule another "Pro Day" in the future for more NFL scouts to see firsthand the skills of some of the Kingsmen's finest.
