THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Since Head Coach Ben McEnroe took over the Cal Lutheran football program in 2007, the Kingsmen have continued their climb up the national polls. The 2011 season culminated with a D-III era program record No. 8 national ranking in the D3football.com polls.

For the third straight year Cal Lutheran went undefeated in conference play and earned an outright conference championship. The results turned into national attention and respect with a record ranking in both the D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) polls.

The CLU football program had been on the cusp of SCIAC greatness for sometime finishing runner-up from 2003-05 and third in 2006. Cal Lutheran had earned only one co-conference championship (1997) since joining the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 1992.

That all changed once McEnroe, a former Cal Lutheran player and assistant coach, returned to Thousand Oaks to take over the football program. In his first season the Kingsmen earned a share of the SCIAC crown for only the second time in program history.

Cal Lutheran finished the 2008 and 2009 campaigns just outside the top-25 polls before finishing at No. 21 in 2010.

Cal Lutheran has won 20 straight SCIAC contests and posted a 28-2 records since McEnroe took over in 2007. The Kingsmen have won four conference titles in five seasons under their current head coach.
