THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Cal Lutheran football coaching staff member Clay Richardson is a finalist for FootballScoop Division III Coordinator of the Year. The team's offensive coordinator orchestrated a unit that ranked third in the country averaging over 45 points per game.

Richardson has been a familiar face on the sidelines for Cal Lutheran, spending the past 10 seasons calling the offensive plays. This season the Kingsmen have averaged seven yards per play and scored 62 touchdowns.
Quarterback Jacob Laudenslayer ranks in the nation's top 10 in passing efficiency. He finished the season with 2,292 yards and 19 touchdowns through the air. Laudenslayer also rushed for 502 yards and six scores to cap off his senior season.
Richardson is the lone offensive coordinator among the trio of finalists. He is joined by a pair of defensive coordinators including Brian Borland from Wisconsin-Whitewater and Wallie Kuchinski of St. Thomas (MN).
A panel of coaches, including previous recipients, will determine the 2011 winner. Votes tallied in the fan poll on the right column of the main page are considered, however the FootballScoop.com panel will make the final decision. Voting for this award ends on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
