The Choctaws recovered a fumble on the first offensive play for LC, and junior Chris Campbell nailed a 31-yard field goal as MC took a 3-0 lead early in the game.  It would be the last score for the Choctaws over the next 42 minutes.

On the night, the Wildcat duo combined to rush for 303 yards and three scores.  Montague tallied 200 yards and score, while Bartholomew racked up 103 yards and a touchdown.

Jamie Bunting tossed two touchdown passes in the second quarter as LC took a 21-3 lead into the halftime break.  D'Mario Parker caught an 11-yard pass, while Darnell Williams scored from 38 yards out.

The Wildcats scored 21 points out of halftime before the Choctaws finally got back on the board when freshman Dillon Causey blocked a punt and senior Bryce Brewer ran in from 17 yards out to cut the lead to 38-10.

Senior Jarrad Craine returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown to open the second half and the Choctaws looked to be back in the game.

Williams stopped all the MC momentum with a 75 yard scoring run that gave LC a 45-17 lead.  Robert Williams scored from two yards out to give the Wildcats the final advantage.

Defensively, the Choctaws were led by senior Jarrad Craine, who picked off two passes and recovered a fumble, while breaking up two passes.  Senior Jeremy Bertrand recorded seven tackles, while sophomore Doc Ward tallied 2.5 tackles for loss on the night.

Senior Jacob Chancellor improved on his sparkling game against Hardin-Simmons, averaging 45.8 yards per punt on eight kicks.  The Quitman, MS native landed four inside the 20-yard line and had a long of 68 yards.

MC have a bye week, before hosting #4 Mary Hardin-Baylor on October 8th at Robinson-Hale Stadium at 6:00 p.m.
