More news about: St. Thomas

Senior RB Colin Tobin rushed for 121 yards and four touchdowns to lead visiting St. Thomas to a 45-22 win over UW-River Falls in Saturday's non-conference football game in River Falls, Wis.

The game, which lasted 3:10, was played with temperatures soaring into the upper 80s.

The No. 4-ranked Tommies (2-0), who fell behind 3-0, scored 31 consecutive points to take control. Tim Albright kicked a 36-yard field goal and converted all five PATs. The Falcons (0-1) lost the debut game for new head coach Matt Walker.

UST, which had six rushing TDs, won its first game in four tries in River Falls. St. Thomas has won 20 of its last 22 games and six consecutive road games. UST coach Glenn Caruso climbed to 12-1 against non-conference competition in his four-year era.

St. Thomas blocked an extra point, had a partially-blocked punt, and took advantage of a high snap on a Falcon punt to set up a TD. A lateral pass on the second-half kickoff return was taken back to the UWRF five-yard line by Kyle Whitley, to set up another score.
